It is our goal at Dahlonega Country Day to establish a strong foundation for your child’s educational development. Our curriculum is bias free and developmentally based, focusing on the individual child’s social, emotional and intellectual needs. Our professional staff encourages exploration and growth in a well-equipped environment that is stimulating, safe, consistent and nurturing. We strive to enhance each child’s natural curiosity and love of learning. Our school provides opportunities for each child to master tasks that are appropriate to his or her individual level of development. Our teachers develop their lesson plans by implementing the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS) that were created as a framework for learning for Georgia’s children ages birth to five. Each age group has a unique set of standards that are a continuum of skills, behaviors, and concepts that children develop throughout this time of life.
STEAM-Based Learning
We know that a child’s interests can lead to exploration, discovery and understanding of the world. Our learning approach integrates science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) throughout the day to make learning fun. We have our very own STEAM lab that our students can utilize to enhance their experience at Dahlonega Country Day.
Active Panel
Dahlonega Country Day is equipped with THREE Promethean ActivPanel boards located in each of our Georgia Pre-K classes. All of our children at Dahlonega Country Day have access to this technology and enjoy actively participating in educational lessons daily.
“The Promethean ActivPanel delivers incredible full HD and 4K Ultra HD picture quality, powerful interactive software and an intuitive touch screen to create a truly engaging learning experience.”
Our Toddler 1 & 2 rooms are full of fun and exciting activities! They are designed to encourage the growth and development necessary to establish a firm foundation for your child's education.
We offer three full-service Georgia Pre-K classrooms. Each lead teacher has a Bachelor’s Degree and each assistant teacher has a CDA, TCC, or is Paraprofessional certified.
These children follow an afternoon schedule that allows them to complete their homework, have a snack, play fun games, and do arts and crafts all in a couple of hour's time!
