Children are natural scientists. They use their senses and special technological tools to observe and investigate their world. We provide an environment that is equipped with everything they need to observe, explore, and document their findings. Our students learn about simple machines, space, living things, and how our interactions with the environment can have a positive or negative impact.
The early years are critical for literacy development. From sign language and story time in younger classrooms, to phonological awareness and emergent reading and writing in our older classrooms, your child develops important literacy skills and a love of reading. Our teachers ask open ended questions to help expand thoughts and ideas that demonstrate comprehension. We encourage communication and help our students make real life connections.
Visual and creative arts stimulate imagination and creative thinking. Creative play helps to develop a preschoolers confidence, language, physical and thinking skills, imagination, and emotional understanding. Arts and craft activities encourage self-expression and decision-making. Creative music, movement, and dance are used as an outlet to express thoughts and feelings.
Our social studies domain helps children understand themselves and their relationships with family and friends. They learn how they are alike or different from their friends and how, as individuals, they can contribute to society. They learn to identify similarities and differences between their own culture and other cultures. Our teachers assist students in becoming more independent in their choices and accomplishing new tasks.
Active children become active adults. We show your child fun ways to practice proper techniques for movement, balance and motor skills with plenty of time to slide, climb and run on our age-appropriate playgrounds. Our teachers provide activities that help with coordination and balance. We collaborate with professionals that are highly trained in physical development. This helps us identify adaptations necessary for each child to be successful.
Early experiences with math help children to develop reasoning skills, inventiveness, and persistence in problem solving. At an early age, our teachers introduce numbers and quantity, measurement and comparison, and patterns and spatial thinking through hands-on learning. Our students establish a firm foundation for mathematical success.
Research shows social-emotional intelligence is one of the best predictors of future success. Our approach to social and emotional growth weaves character development and life skills into daily experiences so children can learn behavioral and relationship skills. Our students learn to manage transitions and adapt to changes in schedule and routines independently.
