Sick Policy<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

We ask that you monitor yourselves and your children and make responsible decisions should any illness arise. We will send your child home immediately if they begin to show any of the following signs and they will NOT be allowed to return until they are symptom free for at LEAST a MINIMUM of 24 hours.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

*Fever of 100.5 or greater\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

*Excessive coughing\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

*Shortness of breath\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

*Vomiting or Diarrhea<\/span><\/p>

If anyone in your household tests positive for COVID 19, your child will not be allowed to return to DCDA until the quarantine period is over.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

We will take every step possible to protect our children and employees. Following our policies will allow us to take necessary precautions and, most importantly, increase the chances of keeping our entire DCDA family safe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Pick-up and Drop-off\n<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Temperature checks:<\/strong> All staff will be asked to take their own temperature each day upon arrival and must be fever-free before entering our building. All students will have a temperature check upon arrival as well. We will check temperatures periodically throughout the day.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Health screenings:<\/strong> Parents and staff will answer some health screening questions at drop-off and we will monitor staff and student health throughout the day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Restricted classroom access:<\/strong> To minimize potential exposure, families are not allowed to walk children to their classroom. Instead, please check in with staff in the lobby and they will escort your child to their classroom. Classrooms will be reserved for teachers and children only. No outside visitors are allowed at this time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Masks for adults:<\/strong> We encourage our teachers and staff to wear masks. We require them to wear a mask if they are going to be in close proximity of a student or another teacher for more than a few minutes. If they are working one on one with a student, they are required to wear a mask. We do NOT require children to wear a mask.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Gloves for adults:<\/strong> Our teachers wear gloves while cleaning, serving food, changing a diaper or soiled clothing, wiping noses\/faces, and any other time needed throughout the day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

On the playground:<\/strong> Outdoor play structures will be cleaned with our electrostatic sprayer after each use.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Field trips and events:<\/strong> There will be no field trips at this time. We will not have any guests at this time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In the Classroom\n<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Classroom cleanliness:<\/strong> Toys, books, craft materials, cubbies, and other high-touch surfaces are routinely disinfected and rotated. We have paused the use of large pillows or stuffed animals and other materials that are difficult to clean. We will use an electrostatic sprayer as needed and at the end of every day to thoroughly disinfect.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Sick space:<\/strong> We have a dedicated space (in or out of the classroom) where teachers can care for sick children while being separated from others until a family member can come to pick up.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Social distancing:<\/strong> We continue to practice social distancing as much as possible to reduce risk.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Healthy Habits\n<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Handwashing and sanitizing:<\/strong> Teachers and students wash their hands thoroughly for 20 seconds upon entering the classroom. Hand sanitizer is also available throughout the center.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Covering coughs and sneezes:<\/strong> Our teachers and staff model and teach students how to safely cover coughs and sneezes with tissues or elbows. We will help students remember to wash their hands after touching their face or covering their coughs and sneezes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Travel:<\/strong> Please pay close attention to the CDC\u2019s guidance around coronavirus protocols and travel to specific regions.
